NLS NAMES LUIS RODRIGUEZ AS THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF THE NEW NLS OLYMPIANS PROGRAM
The NLS Olympians are set to launch their inaugural campaign this 2019-20 competitive club season. The Olympians teams are based out of Montgomery County under the direction and leadership of Regional Director, Luis Rodriguez. NLS will be opening Olympians tryouts for 2004 through 2012 birth years. The Olympians side will be mirroring the successful and fast-growing Ajax program. In only 3 years, the NLS Ajax program has produced 20 teams in all age groups to compete and develop on the national club level out of the Anne-Arundel/PG and Baltimore Region.
“I am a coach because of the kids and the passion I have for the sport itself. My philosophy is to help young athletes to further develop their natural persistence, determination, discipline, dedication, work ethic, heart, leadership skills and respect not only for the game but for others as well” Luis Rodriguez added.
Upcoming tryout dates for NLS Olympians will be announced soon!
“The goal was to always create a special environment that is unique in the United States and draws from our international experiences as players and coaches. Finding the likes of Luis and his coaching staff was key for us to move forward in this extremely talented area. Montgomery County was the first county I moved to from Tunisia and its football culture is phenomenal. It is a special day for NLS and our entire staff to support this side of Maryland and continue to highly compete at the Regional, National and International level”. - President Rafik Kechrid.
“Rodriguez’ dedication and professionalism are second to none and that is what makes him the perfect fit for this role. Next Level’s founders and staff have many deep-rooted ties to the MoCo soccer community and working with the youth in this area has always been something we wanted to pursue when the time was right. Luis is a special person and I can’t wait to see the vision come to fruition in the near future. By working together, we can create endless possibilities for our players and families in these Maryland communities. Creating bridges both nationally and internationally is always a key part of the mission with the clear intention to change the landscape of US youth soccer for the better.” We can’t wait for NLS Olympians to take the pitch this year!” - VP, Daniel Bulls
“NLS is always looking to positively change the soccer environment in Maryland, and the NLS Olympians program is an incredible opportunity to do so. In addition to Baltimore, Anne-Arundel/PG County, now young Montgomery county soccer players and coaches will be able to benefit from the amazing program NLS has to offer. Together with Luis, NLS will continue the soccer development revolution of so many talented soccer players and coaches!” Technical Director, Steef de Lange
